Good evening, I have a problem: first of all, a customer registers himself on our website and shares his referlink to his friends. The problem is: when these friends become sub-affiliates and place an order, the system does not assign the percentages established to those who are upstream.
We have set 3 percent levels of earnings among our members.
1st level = 15%
2nd level = 10%
3rd level = 5%.
Unfortunately, only few times the system works correctly while very often it does not work at all. I need help because now, I have influencers as subscribers who are doing a lot of advertising for our website.
But the system doesn’t work properly. I hope to receive a solution to this problem as soon as possible.
The supported plugin integrations is WooCommerce
Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I noticed that it works when a new subscriber places an order online after a few days. in this case the different percentage levels are credited. If the new subscriber places an order after one month from the registration, the system does not work and the money paid by paypal goes directly to our site without giving 1 cent to the direct or sub-affiliates !
Thanks so much for your availability.

After reviewing your MLM settings, I can see that you need to set the Cycles setting to 1 at a minimum. The Parent-Child structure won’t be calculated properly without making this change. And this can also affect the calculation of the Indirect Referral Commissions.
You may also want to disable the Sub Affiliate Referrals setting. This setting enables you to award a flat rate commission every time a Parent Affiliate refers a Sub Affiliate.
Also, I want to be sure that you have the commissions setup according to your needs. When you say that you want to have 3 Levels of commissions, do you mean 1 Direct Level and 2 Indirect Levels, or 1 Direct Level and 3 Indirect Levels?
With the way that you have it configured now, it’s setup for 1 Direct Level and 3 Indirect Levels. To fix this, you should set the 15% as the Direct Referral Rate in Affiliates > Settings > General. This will award a 15% commission when the affiliate refers a sale directly. Then, in Affiliates > Settings > MLM, change the Depth to 2 (Allowing each Parent to refer 2 Levels of Sub Affiliates below them).
Another thing is, it sounds like your Tracking Cookies may be expiring shortly after the customer clicks the affiliate link. What do you have set for the Cookie Length? You may want to increase the amount of time before the cookie expires to track referrals for a longer time frame. If you want the affiliate to receive credit for referring the sale regardless of the tracking cookie, you need to use the AffiliateWP Lifetime Commissions add-on.
Regarding the Payouts, the AffiliateWP system tracks the referred sales and records the commissions that should be paid to the affiliate. Then, you as the site admin are responsible for paying out those commissions based on your own payment schedule and payment method (Manually, via PayPal, etc). You’ll find more info on how Payouts work in the AffiliateWP Documentation.

Hi Christian, thank you for your help. Yes, I intend to have 1 direct level of 15% and 2 indirect levels (10% and 5%). Now I will arrange as you advised me. As for cookies, they were set to 30 days, so I set them to 3 years. Definitely also purchase the lifetime commissions add-on! I keep you updated. thanks again for your availability

Good evening Christian, I tried to log in on settings- then on affiliateWP MLM Activation but the api access keys are disabled! For this reason I cannot make any changes to the settings. I found the api chave and the email but when I insert them nothing works! What happened? How can I activate the MLM keys? I repeat the keys I saved them but the system does not accept them. Do you recommend uninstalling the plugin and then installing and inserting the api keys with the email? Or is there a different way to get API keys in my possession? Thanks for your help.

Can you please provide me with the email address for your order, or the Order Number? That will enable me to view your license status to see if it may already be active. Some servers block the license Activated data from being displayed in WP Admin.
Also, just to let you know, your license key doesn’t have any affect on your ability to use our plugins. It only grants you access to support and updates. So feel free to setup and use the plugin as soon as you want to.

Hi Christian, thanks for your answer! My number order is : “Order #9203 was placed on October 6, 2018 and is currently Completed.” And my e-mail is : firstname.lastname@example.org, unfortunately, if I don’t have the access keys, I absolutely cannot use the plugin and its functions.
thanks so much

Are you saying that you cannot find your API Keys? If so, you can access your account area, and visit the Licenses Tab, where all of your keys are located.
After reviewing your order, I can see that your license has expired on October 6th, 2019. So that explains why your old license won’t activate.
The good news is, we are offering a special discount on our Ultimate MLM Bundle, so you can get MLM, Ranks, Performance Bonuses, BuddyPress Pro, and two of our newer add-ons (Invites and Affiliate Sign Up Products). And you can get it all for only $99, which is much less than renewing each of these plugins individually. So this is the best time to renew your license. You’ll save money on the renewal and basically get two new plugins for free. This sale will be ending soon, so be sure to take advantage of it while you can.

Hi Christian, I purchased and installed the new MLM plugin.I also fixed exactly as you said:cycle=1 and depth= 2.
Now can you just tell me if this last part is correct like that? I am attaching the image. Thanks for your time!

The Lifetime Commissions add-on is developed by the AffiliateWP Team, so if you already have a Professional License for AffiliateWP, you also have access to all of their Pro add-ons, which includes Lifetime Commissions. Simply log in to your account on affiliatewp.com and download the plugin.
Yes, your Indirect Referral Rates are setup correctly. Just keep in mind that the Indirect Referral Rate you have set there (15%) applies to ALL Levels of Indirect Referrals, and the Per-Level Rates override that (Level 1 = 10% and Level 2 = 5%).

Good evening Christian, unfortunately the MLM system still doesn’t work! I had an order made by a client named Barbara who is a sub-affiliate of Philip. The order was successfully completed but the 15% referral to Filippo was not paid. I am attaching a file of your order tonight. I basically arranged everything as you said. But nothing has changed. Why are customers no longer receiving referrals from their sub affiliates? I hope you can help me definitively to finally be able to start working with the customer network of my site. Thanks for your availability Christian.
January 29, 2020 at 5:38 pm #11385
I am also attaching files to better explain my problem. Filippo is the affiliate parent and barbarian is his sub-affiliate. They are both registered in December, when the plugin had expired. But the system nevertheless re-recognized the automatic affiliation. But it doesn’t work even now that I purchased the new plugin!
If filippo and barbara registered on our site through referlink in December while the MLM plugin expired on 6 October 2019, do you think that all the customers who shared the referlink are null? I don’t understand why the expired plugin assigns the affiliate sub but does not pay the referrals! I don’t want all my customers to be forced to delete their account with all their sub-affiliates in order to have to re-register on the site. It would be a real disaster for me! Could you enter my site and check where the problem is?

After reviewing your screenshots and your explanation of what’s happening, here’s what I understand is going on.
Basically, Barbara made a purchase and Phillip the Parent Affiliate should have received the 15% Direct Referral for this sale, but did not. This tells me that what I suspected is in fact the case. Because you didn’t have Lifetime Commissions active, the Core AffiliateWP plugin can’t tell that Phillip referred Barbara, and should receive the Direct Referral (15%). This is because, without Lifetime Commissions, the referral only lasts as long as your referral cookie is set for.
The good news is, we can fix this issue from the past going forward:
1) Ensure that you have Lifetime Commissions installed, activated, and configured. Note: Do not enable or set a Lifetime Referral Rate, since it will override your Indirect Commission Rates for the Upline Parents.
2) In WP Admin, go to Affiliates > Settings > Integrations and ensure that Lifetime Commissions is enabled for All affiliates.
3) Also in Affiliates > Settings > Integrations, you’ll see an MLM and Lifetime Commissions section. Change the Sync Lifetime Affiliate setting to “Parent as Lifetime Affiliate”.
4) Save the settings and click the “Sync All” Lifetime Affiliates button.
This is a special integration between MLM and Lifetime Commissions, where it will check all of your affiliates, and automatically set their Parent Affiliate (Phillip in this case) as their Lifetime Affiliate. This will solve your problem.
Please test it after making these adjustments and let me know how it works for you.

Good evening Christian, I set everything according to your directives. Unfortunately this time Barbara did an online order test and Filippo did not receive his 15%. I am attaching the files to check if I set everything correctly. Thanks again for the availability.

Can you please provide me with admin-level login credentials for your site, so that I can investigate this further? And if so, please be sure to mark your reply as private, or you can send it to me via email at:

Alright, I’m trying to access the user account for Barbara and Philip, but it seems that the user account that you gave me doesn’t have permission to access the Edit User screen. Can you please give me access to an admin account with full permissions?
I need to access their user account in order to see which Lifetime Affiliate Barbara is linked to.
Also, is this a Multi-Site?
February 2, 2020 at 9:34 pm #11414
Hello Cristian, you probably need the superadministrator credentials, with these you can definitely access anywhere. I’ll send them to you tomorrow as soon as I contact my friend. As for the WordPress site, you are a multiple platform. I’ll get you the credentials you need as soon as possible. Thank you for your availability!
February 8, 2020 at 2:21 am #11432
Okay, I was able to review the user accounts and linked affiliates with the new logins you provided.
It appears that there were some major changes to the AffiliateWP Lifetime Commissions plugin in the new version (1.4). This explains why the Sync All button isn’t working. I’m in the process of updating this integration now, so that you can just click the button to set all of the Parent Affiliates as the Lifetime Affiliate.
I’ll follow up again soon with an update.
February 10, 2020 at 6:29 am #11435
Ok thanks a lot Christian, so write me here on the forum to notify me when you updated the plugin? I wish I could start working with my influencers again as soon as possible. Thank you very much for your availability and professionalism!
February 18, 2020 at 10:05 pm #11488
Yes, I have good news actually. I spent time updating the Lifetime Commissions integration for MLM over the weekend, and it’s installed and working smoothly on your site. After the update, I simply clicked the “Sync ALL” affiliates button and it set all of the Parent Affiliates as Lifetime Affiliates.
You can view the connected customers for each affiliate in the Edit Affiliate screen (Affiliates > Affiliates > Click their name to Edit).
So you have the updated version installed now. I will be releasing the files for download soon. Please go ahead and test the referral/checkout process to ensure everything is working on your end. And let me know how it turns out.
February 19, 2020 at 11:55 am #11493
Hi Christian, thanks for your answer. Now I will ask Barbara to repeat the order and if everything is correct then Filippo will have to pay 15% from Barbara’s order. We hope everything is perfect. For now I thank you very much for your precious time and I will let you know soon if everything went correctly!
February 20, 2020 at 5:15 pm #11510
Hello Cristian, Barbara made the order and this time it all went to perfection! Thank you very much. I’m super happy! As soon as it has the files ready to be downloaded Alerts me ok? You’re a genius and a great technician. Thank you so much for your availability
February 22, 2020 at 2:06 am #11516
Alright, that’s excellent news.
Thanks for your patience with this, and I’m happy to hear that the Lifetime Commissions integration is working smoothly now.
I’ll be sure to let you know when MLM version 1.1.5 is ready for release.
February 26, 2020 at 10:21 am #11551
Hello Cristian, I’ll give you an example : Barbara is subaffiliate of Philip. If Barbara makes an order and pays with PayPal, then Philip receives the 15% refer. If Barbara makes an order and pays the courier on delivery, in cash, Philip does not receive the refer. My question is: is there a plugin that allows you to make the refer work even in these cases?
February 26, 2020 at 3:27 pm #11555
Oh, I see what you mean. The core AffiliateWP plugin isn’t designed to work with the Cash on Delivery payment option in WooCommerce. It only generates the commission once the Order status is changed to Complete in WooCommerce. I believe you have to change this manually for each order, with the Cash on Delivery option.
So no, I don’t know of a way to do this automatically.

Hi Christian, in the meantime, thank you very much for solving the MLM plugin problem. You were really super!
Now I contact you for another small problem that I hope you can solve. Since we updated the new MLM plugin I can no longer access the shipping settings area. When I try to click on Woocommerce – settings … it gives me an error! In this period of the Corona Virus I would simply like to eliminate shipping costs and install free shipping! can you help me? Do you need my credentials? Thank you very much for your availability Christian and see you soon!
