I would like to ask how to configure the MLM plugin correctly.
I would like to have a matrix that is 50 spots across under Parent Affiliate
Once All 50 spots are filled start Member on a New Matrix.
PARENT AFFILIATE’S FIRST LEVEL MATRIX
Tier 1 Affiliates: 50 spots
PARENT AFFILIATE’S SECOND LEVEL MATRIX
Tier 1 Affiliates: 50 spots
– & SO ON-
I have set the settings to 50 wide and 7 deep, with a forced parent affiliate. Is this correct?
I need to have the following tier for one product:
T1= $ 60.00
T2= $ 35.00
T3= $ 12.00
T4= $ 5.00
T5= $ 3.00
T6= $ 1.50
T7= $ 0.50
And this tier for a different product (in percentages):
For all the other products in my catalog, I do not want them to provide commissions.
For the above product settings, I have entered the Per-Level product rates only in the AffiliateWP MLM section of the product page (nothing in the AffliateWP section) Is this correct?
How can I specify percentages vs. dollar amounts for the individual product pages?
Also, do I need the tiered affiliate rates plugin installed as well or will this conflict with the MLM plugin?
Lastly, I know that we can manually re-assign parent affiliates, but is there a way to automate this if we choose what affiliates should be receiving them?
Thank you for your help!

Sorry for the delay. From what you’re telling me, you want to set the Width to 50 and the Depth to 1. This will allow only 1 Level of Sub Affiliates below each Parent. Then, you should change the Cycles setting to the number of times that you want to allow each affiliate to fill out their matrix of 50 Sub Affiliates (Is this where the 7 value comes in, 7 x 50?).
Assuming you are using WooCommerce, if you don’t want to allow AffiliateWP to generate commissions for specific products, you can disable commissions for that product only in the AffiliateWP Tab of the Add/Edit Product screen in WooCommerce.
You can also use MLM’s Per-Level Product Rates feature in the AffiliateWP MLM Tab of the Add/Edit Product screen to set Per-Level Rates for that product in particular. You only need to enter a value in the Per-Product Rate field (In the AffiliateWP Tab) if you want to set the amount to award for Direct Referrals. The Per-Level Rates apply to Indirect Referrals only. The current version of MLM uses the Global Indirect Referral Rate Type set in the MLM tab of the AffiliateWP settings, however we are working on adding a Per-Level Product Rate Type setting to the next version as well.
The Tiered Affiliate Rates plugin only applies to Direct Referrals, so it will not affect MLM. However, I would recommend that you use our Ranks and Performance Bonuses add-ons, if you want to award higher commission rates based on the affiliates performance (X amount of Referrals, X number of Sub Affiliates, X amount of Earnings, etc). These 3 plugins work together to allow you to create Affiliate Types (Ranks), and automatically assign a Rank to an affiliate based on the performance goals that you set. The Ranks plugin will give you the ability to adjust the Direct and Indirect Referral amount based on their Rank. It also integrates with WooCommerce to enable you to set a Per-Rank Product Rate as well (This applies to Direct Referrals).
There is a way to programmatically assign all new affiliates to a Parent Affiliate of your choosing, but this would require some custom development work. What is your criteria for the affiliates that should be receiving the new Sub Affiliates? It is possible to use the affiliate’s Rank for this as well.

Thank you for your detailed response, I was reviewing your response with my colleagues. I may have a misunderstanding of the MLM setup. I was thinking the 7 width applied because there are 7 tiers.
Am I correct in assuming that setting a forced parent affiliate will have that parent earning commissions at the tier 1 level?
I am currently looking over your various add ons as well.
Thank you for your help.

The Width just refers to the number of Sub Affiliates that are allowed on each Level. The Depth controls how many Levels (Tiers) each Parent Affiliate can have below them.
The Forced Parent/Default Parent allows you to automatically assign new Sub Affiliates to the Affiliate selected. When combined with the Forced Matrix feature, if that Default Parent Affiliate has already filled their 1st Level (7 Sub Affiliates in your example), the new Sub Affiliate will be assigned to one of the Default Parent Affiliates Sub Affiliates on Level 1 instead.
Please see the AffiliateWP MLM documentation for more information on how these settings work, and how the commissions work in particular.

I think I have it figured out now.
Thank you very much for your help!
I’d also like to suggest adding the list of shortcodes to the online documentation. If they are already there, I was unable to find any place except for in the online demo page.
