    Hi,

I just started using your MLM plugin and wanted to check my configuration to see if I set it up correctly.

I need only certain affiliates to be able to have sub-affiliates (only 1 level), and only the ones I specifically add at the backend. I don’t want affiliates to automatically be able to get sub-affiliates.

Should I turn on “Click to allow commissions for referring new Sub Affiliates.” for the configuration I want?

    Hi there,

Actually, no. The Sub Affiliate Referrals feature allows you to award a flat commission to an affiliate for referring a new Sub Affiliate. So, I would recommend you leave this disabled, unless you want that sort of functionality.

What you want is the ability to choose which affiliates can have Sub Affiliates, and which cannot. In the current version of MLM, ALL affiliates have the ability to refer Sub Affiliates. However, we are close to releasing an update for MLM and Ranks, which will allow you to setup a Rank (E.g. Sponsor) and require that the affiliate have the Sponsor Rank in order to have a Sub Affiliate. Then, all you need to do is assign the Sponsor Rank to the affiliates that you want to allow Sub Affiliates for via the Edit Affiliate screen (Affiliates > Affiliates > Click the Affiliate’s Name).

This feature is fully tested and works great. We could be looking at another week or two before these updates are released, as they contain some other new features as well, which are in the final testing phases. But if you need this feature right away, I could send you the updated versions of these plugins early.

Just let me know what works best for you.

Alright, I’ve sent the early plugin updates to you via the email addresses you provided. Please be sure to download these as soon as possible, before the link expires.

Once you create your “Sponsor” Rank (Or whatever you want to call it), you’ll see it listed as an option in the new Per-Rank Sub Affiliate Permissions setting.

Please, let me know how it works for you.
